Cheryl shared her story with us after a meet and greet in Kansas City.
“Ride the Wind, never coming back until I touch the midnight sun”
by Cheryl Turner
Hi,
I just wanted to let Bret know that I am so appreciative of how nice he was to my son when we met him. Even though we were unable to get on the bus, Luke was still so thrilled to just be able to shake his hand. I know everyone says its just because we paid money to meet him that he was nice to us, but I know different and so did Luke. Luke could tell that Bret really is a nice person.
Luke passed away last week. He was only 22.
He was so happy that he was able to see Poison in concert. He has been dancing to Poison since he was 3 years old. It is one of my favorite memories of my son growing up and to be able to see the two of them together means the world to me.
Please pass on to Bret how much the experience meant to both of us and thank him for me again for spending that time with Luke. I know that Bret impacts many people in different ways, so I just wanted him to know that just a smile from him and a handshake can make such a difference in someone’s lives and how blessed he is to have that gift.
That’s all I wanted to say and I do hope that you pass it on to Bret. I know that Luke was planning on sending a message in to Bret to thank him so I wanted to do it for him. I did send out pics in awhile ago, but Luke wanted to write something to Bret himself.
Luke’s last post on FB was
