“I met Ava and her Mom Chrisie at Jorja’s All Star Ascend Fun Run. Talk about amazing spirit and courage. Ava had neuroblastoma (the same form of cancer Ronan had), for which there is no cure. So while I had a great time at Barrett-Jackson, it is moments like meeting Ava and Chrisie that remind me just how important and precious life is. While I realize that not everyone can donate to a cause, the simple act of helping to raise awareness is so important. Please help me, Chrisie and Maya raise awareness about this disease. If you can donate to organizations like Maya’s “The Ronan Thompson Foundation”, St. Judes, Barrows Neurological Foundation etc. please do so. If you can help by passing the message along to others, please do so. Every little bit helps.”

Bret Michaels makes good on promise to terminally ill woman

Upon returning to Arizona from his year long solo tour, Bret made a terminally ill fans wish come true by keeping a promise he made in December of 2012. This winter Michaels’ attention was turned to a fan battling cancer whose wish was to stand together with her family on a beach and look at the ocean, as they had never seen
it before. Brenda’s family reached out to a dream fulfillment organizations, but it seemed as if their seemingly simple request fell on deaf ears. Upon learning of this, Michaels’ organization, The Life Rocks Foundation, and Serenity Hospice wasted no time in making this wish come true. Bret himself added a touch of rockstar treatment to the fulfilled wish by flying Brenda and her family via his private jet to California. On tour in Canada at the time of the trip Bret was unable to be there personally but spoke to Brenda on the phone promising her that he would see her when he returned from tour. Michaels kept his promise last week making the hour long drive to visit with Brenda and her family at their home in Arizona.

Thankful that I got to hang out with Brenda, Randy and the rest of their family recently. Sadly, Brenda lost her battle with cancer today. My thoughts and prayers are with Randy and their family.   – Bret
