TeamBretMichaels.com Story: A Grandmother’s Inspiration Driven By Grandson & Bret’s Music

I would like to acknowledge my grandson Braelyn. He is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, HIE, and developmental delay; he is blind in his right eye. Bray should have been a normal, healthy child. Because my daughter’s doctor cared more for the dollar instead of a human life; Bray has to suffer everyday. He was born in Owensboro, KY and life flighted to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY. NICU doctors at Kosair Children’s Hospital advised us that he may never breathe on his own but, he is. His doctors have told us that he will never walk or talk. Bray comprehends even though some doctors say that he doesn’t. Bray and I sit at the kitchen table and sing all of the time. He sings in his own little way. You can see the passion in his expressions. We come from a family that has a lot of talent. The Everly Bros. are our cousins, my uncle sings for the New York Metropolitan Opera, and my cousin was the bass player for Brian Setzer. It is no surprise that Bray loves music as well. Your music is our favorite. Mine and Bray’s favorite is “Something To Believe In”. He gives me hope and I believe in him. There are not many resources for Bray here in Owensboro, KY. He gets so excited whenever he hears music. Music is the best therapy. – Cherish
